It can happen whether you are new graduate or a seasoned professional.

What you see for yourself in the not-so-far-off future becomes crystal clear.

You can taste it, feel it and smell its sweet success.

There’s only one problem. No one else really shares your vision.

Friends may sound supportive with their, “Yeah, sounds good,” and “I’m sure you’ll do well,” but you know that they don’t really believe as you do.

It’s really not their fault.

Well, what if there was a place, a school, a university that not only taught, but, encouraged, as well? A place of learning that gave you the push you needed to forge ahead in your lonely journey.

The University of Loneliness.

And, what if that place, was all in your head?

Here’s the good news: You are not alone. You’re just lonely.

Many who have dreamed and succeeded before you, found a way to never give up on their vision by implementing a daily routine of self-encouragement.

Consider the wisdom and lessons to be found in these thoughtful words from 5 famous dreamers:

Catch Your Thoughts

We become what we think about and cutting off negative thinking at the pass will keep you on track. It’s the same with our conversations. Eleanore Roosevelt said, “Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.”

Try, Try, Again

The process of success is an experiment. If you truly believe in what you want, you won’t be discouraged by set-backs. What doesn’t work is part of the process. As, Thomas Edison would answer when asked about his failures, “I have not failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work!”

Value Time

Mark Twain wrote constantly and knew the value of every waking hour, warning, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.”

Love Your Dream

How you accomplish can be as important as what you accomplish, as echoed in these words from Mother Theresa: “We can’t all do great things, but we can all do things with great love.”

Act Well

Respect for your circle of influence can give even more meaning to your effort. As Plato advised, “Good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good actions in others.”

Remember, what lies between you and your future is what lies between your ears.

Each day, repeat to yourself, “I am strong. I am able. I am doing what needs to be done to fulfill my destiny. I help others along the way. And, I am grateful.” (My personal mantra.)

May you graduate with the highest honors from The University of Loneliness!
